What reed valve in 2000 EC300
It's been suggested to me to change the petals in the reed valve. i was on Boyesen website but EC300 isn't listed when I searched. Can anyone help out where I can get the petals?
Also, long story short, put head back on engine started up and water was leaking out through where the head meets the bottom end. Pretty sure I just need new O rings but has anyone heard of that happening before? Cheers, Rob |
first the reeds, see my post w/pictures on this thread for Boysen reeds for '00.
http://www.gasgasrider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19240 Boysen part# is RL-02. second, you removed the head, is it leaking where it attaches to the cylinder or where the cylinder attaches to the crankcase? (you said "bottom end" but head attaches to cylinder, cylinder attaches to bottom end i.e., crankcase) If you didn't change the head o-rings then that is probably your problem. If you did, they are easy to slip out of place and do the same. Or the cylinder to crankcase is leaking then you're going to need to pull it back apart and change the gasket(s). |
Yeah sorry I meant it was leaking where head meets the cylinder. Didn't change the O rings but getting them tomorrow. Hopefully that will sort it!
Your link for the reed valves isn't working. |

somehow I cut the end off of the link the first time. the 2000 model year era Boysen (pre v-force) part number is RL-02. |
$39 for shipping? They'd want to fit them and all for that price!
