tubliss and did u rims..
 

got a bud trying to put tubliss in a u rim without much luck.. cannot get a good seal.. anyone running them with that wheel ?

i have a set in my excels, and no problems at all.. he did the install the same as i did ..

I've had them in mine over a year now with two or three sets of tires and no problems. Is he using brand new tires or ones that have been mounted before? Only problem I ever had was using a set of tires that had been used previously with a conventional rim lock. But that was on a set of Excels and not my DID U rims.

+1 using them on my DID wheels.

it is a brand new one.. have heard that on used ones also..

I set up a set of used DID "U" Dirt Stars with Tubliss, no problems. Pirelli MT-43 trials on rear, BStone M59 on front. Prepped rim as per instructions. What I do and is now recommended by Nuetech is paint the liner and inner tire sealing area with Slime. Seals first time, every time.

the tubliss seal is between the tubliss and the tire so does not matter what rim you are using (have seen it work on some pretty square rims!)

i usually try to get mine to seal with just soap (windex spray works nice) and once i see it has sealed i then add the slime, but last time i did it i was in a bit of a rush so just added the slime and it sealed up all the small leaks - have to use slime here because of the thorns!

the one thing that need to be quite pedantic about is ensuring that the smaller tubliss valve (the one that pumps to 100) is sitting properly in the hole and not skew and then as i said before use lots of soap when fitting , especially between the tubliss liner and the inner part of the tire i guess it allows some minor movement while pumping

Dont give up on it though, because once you have it working properly you will never want to use anything else!

the tire bead to rim is not usually an issue. the tubliss outer must seal to the tire inner - the slime acts as lubrication and allows the tubliss to fully expand across the rim and get a good seal with the tire inner.. after i install a tubliss (with no tire on it) i usually give it a few pounds and check to make sure it expands across the rim evenly - i have seen it 'hang up' in spots where the rim tape wasn't smooth. since i've started sliming the tubliss and the tire, they always bead up, even when i reverse a tire. done so many of these now (have 4 bikes with tubliss front and rear) that you get really good at it... i hope to never go back to tubes - the tubliss tire changes are much faster with less issues compared to traditional once you get the hang of it.

No problems found after installing, about a year ago, Tubliss on two sets of well used DID "U" Dirt Stars. Pirelli MT-43 trials on the rear, knobbies on the front.

Will try the Slime stuff soon, thanks for the idea.
