Programmable Ignition

I bought one for my road bike to try and get a little extra power out of it after doing the head mod again. Incredibly impressed.

When I tried the RM125 CDI on my bike I knew there was a hell of a lot to be gained by a bit more ignition advance. And after 6 maps tested out on the road on the SM, its starting to feel perfect with about 4 degrees earlier on, and 2 degrees later on, advance only. (which is surprising as most of us would believe a bit more retard at high rpm would help, but I suppose the porting and exhaust suggest otherwise!).

Anyway, the unit cost me 154GBP. And the second time you buy you get a nice discount, and if you order more you get a sizeable discount!

Even better, I ordered 1 day, and it came the next from the Czech Republic!

http://www.ignitech.cz/en/ is the website, the AC unit isn't listed anywhere but the price list. I will make another order on Monday. If anyone is interested let me know and I should be able to get at least a little bit of discount!

wow, very cool this cdi. Is this cdi AC or DC?

AC, no battery required. Plugs directly in place of original. Just like hpi CDI except half the price for dual map, reprogrammable etc

Would love to know more about it but their website leaves a lot to be desired. Any other info out there on it?

I have been using thier P2 on 3 bikes now and love them. Just a bit of a faff for the GasGas as they are DC units so need to mess around with stable regulation extra wiring and stuff.

Didn't know they did an AC version. Do you need a battery to program it though?

motopsycho87 07-14-2018 01:23 AM

The unit comes with the same wires as the pre-06 CDI. Plus USB and rs232 hard wired. The power for the unit comes from the ignition coil just like the original CDI. So there is no extra wiring, no battery. And to program just plug in a USB cable. Couldn't be simpler.

I had one on my old ccm604 which I sold on which required a battery for programming etc. But is not required for this model.

You even get 3 "extra function" wires for map switch, rpm counter etc. So it's a higher spec unit at a damn low price.

Wiring info below

When I next flash up the laptop I'll post the map that worked best with the 2002 bike so far. When I get the new unit it will be the first to try on the 2006 also.

Sweet. Yeah their website sucks. Also it can be hard to buy from them if there is a local agent. But that isn't always clear and their communication sucks.

Great product though.

motopsycho87 07-14-2018 01:57 AM

I found no problem with communication. And the day I paid for the unit was the day the unit was made, and despatched, I hate it by 2pm the next day from the other side of Europe. I have never seen deliver that good, and for non English speakers the communication was excellent.

If you have problems like that, I can order and forward on.

I almost want to buy another 2 to cover any future bikes I might get... :D

Couple pictures, 1 is current map, makes it rip off the low and and still scream at top, 2 is showing just how easy it is. Plug it in, press programme, done. I love the fact that people pull up to me on the road thinking I'm on a 125 and my 'L' plate has fallen off, followed by a lovely screaming wheelie!
