Supercross in St Louis

Three of us are heading down for the race. We are stopping in St Joe to ride on the way.

Anyone have a "heads up" on St Joe, seeing as it is a first for all of us.

Will the hare scramble course still be easy to find?

Thanks for the input!!

St Joe is some good riding with a wide variation from sand washes to decent single track. Probably a lot of quads there as well since the sandy river beds are good for wide open running.

It is also the site of a NEPG national enduro round this year.
www.momudders.com is the club's website, the park is called St. Joe State Park http://mostateparks.com/park/st-joe-state-park
Flat River Gran Prix is next weekend...

St.joe is a shell of its former self. Most of the chat (sand) has been covered with compacted gravel, the woods have been untouched luckly.Lots of good marked trails to ride,non-directional though(no one way).Still a great place to ride,I just miss the chat.

Not too much of the public accessible part of the park is used when there is a sanctioned race being held so you guys won't see much of the harescramble track. It's a shame but only a small part of the total acreage at the park is open to the public. There is still a lot of good riding though. If you ever get a chance to ride one of the Missouri harescrambles or Enduros you'll see how great the riding really is. Just a heads up , don't go outside the public accessible areas even though it's really tempting. The fines are high I hear.

The race was great!! I did see one guy wearing a gas gas shirt and a different guy with a g.g. hat.

The ride at St Joe was awesome!! We cut it a little short, rode for about 3.5 hours. We will be heading back soon!

My son and I camped/rode there in 2012 to get acclimated for the national enduro later that year. Hard to believe in all my years of riding I had never been there. I'll pass on the advice my buddies all gave me (we dig singletrack)
"Get as far away from the sand flats and camping area as you can",
we did
and found some great, tight, twisty, hilly stuff that someone who knew what they were doing laid out. Then we tied em' all together, Good time.
Looking forward to their national in may.
