More power

I've recently upgraded to a 2015 30th anniversary 300 , problem is it feels down on power compared to my older 2011 300 , and I'm getting smoked by my mates ktm 300 , where do I start I've recently done the top end what next ?

Can you describe the power delivery of your engine? What is your gearing? Does the KTM pull away during acceleration, top speed or both? Has your cylinder head been cut to correct the squish and compression? Once you do that you can more easily get the jetting set correctly. What pipe and silencer do you have on your bike?

Bike is standard with standard gmf exhaust , compared to my old gas gas the power just feels like a 250 , I haven't checked the power valve to see if there's any slack maybe that's my next move , any explosive midrange jetting specs out there ? Mostly do fast enduro x country

Does your engine have the adjustable power valve? If it is a 15 it should, but the '14 "30 years" bikes didn't (if I remember correctly).
If so equipped, that could be a place to start.

No mines not got the adjustable power valve cover bIves a 64 plate , should I check power valve internals then for slack ?

You could of course do so, but I think there is more power to be found in correct jetting (and of course correct squish). My suggestion regarding power valve adjustment was to check if an adjustable power valve was adjusted to de-tune the power.

Ok then can any body tell me the most powerful / explosive midrange /top end settings please

That would be a combination of jetting (n3XX needles are good options IMHO), exhaust system (pro-circuit or fmf fatty), power valve setting (2.5 to 3 turns out), base gasket (deck height and exhaust port timing), and having the head cut to clean up squish and maybe add some compression. Having the cylinder ported by a reputable tuner will help as well.

If it’s a 2015, it most certainly does have an adjustable power valve. If your swingarm is silver instead of black it’s a 15+ and has an adjustable power valve. It’s behind the large nut on the right side of the engine

silver swing arm and a 64 plate but no adjustable power valve is it because it's a 30 the anniversary one
