Beta Smoker

Hi,
I heard rumoes that Beta will introduce in July a 250cc and 300cc 2-Stroke Enduro!
Does anybody heard something about it or does anybody has pictures?

Intriguing! I hope it's true. I hope they develop EFI along with OSSA. Fun things on the horizon, because you know once one company gets the EFI going, everyone else will develop it too.

DI is the next leap and what we are waiting for, not just EFI as on the Ossa. Maybe the Beta will use a GasGas engine like the Fantic.

The Beta two-stroke is a tight lipped thing. I was told by American Beta, Beta Italy has no plan to build a two-stroke, full size motor, enduro. I sell Beta's and I've asked about it before...

Beta I would think would produce their motor in house for this project??? Beta has vast knowledge of producing two-strokes, they build/built motors for KTM 50, 65, 85, and 105, 50, and 65 until 2009, 85 and 105 still I believe?... I had people ask me what the large "B" logo cast into parts was for years at different shops I worked. I learned from American Beta!..

Beta makes a full size, liquid cooled, 6 speed, 50cc two-stroke in Europe as a homlogation special commuter/weekend racer that looks cool. They do not bring it into the US, I asked if we could get 50 or so orders we could do it! Also they make a full range of trials two-strokes. As well as two-stroke scooters. Their production is about 20,000 bikes, they produce a few thousand engines for other companies as well.

Call me crazy but I'm not a big fan of EFI. At least on a 2 stroke. Too much that "could" go wrong with electronics in wet environment. Jetting a 2 stroke is pretty simple so I don't see a need for it. I had a KXF last year and it was nice on the 4 stroke. But it did add to my maintenance re-greasing all the connectors. I was always paranoid about getting dirt or something that would take the fuel pump out too. CHA-CHING!

no rumor any more :D

What I've been hearing from this side is that Sherco would present a 2ST next year..with it's own engine. I hope its true, the bike is really nice and this is what the 2ST really need, Investment !
Curious to see for how long will the Japanese ignore this .

I personally hope the Japanese continue to ignore this. It's been the best thing ever to happen for Gas Gas Husqvarna, KTM, et al.
