Trelleborg t lock sealant
Hi all
Its time for a new tyre but iv run out of the trellaborg t lock sealant , it only comes in a 200ml bottle and its nearly 30 dollars , is there an alternative you can use ( iv never used a puncture sealant before this so nothing to compare it too ) , the t lock fluid id like milk with small grains of something mixed in to seal any holes. Thanks for any help Chris |
Here in the States, two main choices are Stan's tire sealant, and Slime.
I prefer the Stan's. Not as messy as Slime and very effective. Readily available at mt. bike shops. Its a white latex based sealant that sounds similar to what you are used to. |
I've never bothered with any sealant. Just run HD tubes and carry a spare in the toolkit.

Is the Trelleborg T Lock System still available? I only found it in the UK and it was out of stock,
http://www.trelleborgtyres.co.uk/t_lock_concept.htm How does it compare to the Tubliss system? |
I think the T lock sealant is needed is to seal the hole the needle makes in the tire, not neccessarily the insert to the tire.
It sounds like it would function the same, probably easier to mount as you don't have the Tubliss rim lock/LP schrader valve. I think the needle thing for a simple pressure check would get old though. My tires would be swiss cheese in no time. |

Never used the tubliss so can't comment on that . Chris |

The needle is supposed to go in the same hole all the time , you pick a point above the valve on the tyre so you know where to find it next time. |
