Dirt Rider: GasGas vs Beta
Interesting article comparing the EC300 to the 300RR. Wish someone would do the same with the 250's.

Why was this moved here? I didn't do a review of any product. I simply shared an article to generate a general discussion about the article itself and comparing the two bikes.

I feel the Beta Race Edition would have been a better comparison. But I thought it a good read. I was surprised that the reviewers thought the GG was wider than the beta. I rode a 250 Race for a couple hours and first thing I noticed is it was wider than my ‘99

The General Announcements section has become a " dumping ground" for everything. We have subsections for a reason. |
I have a Beta 300 and a new GasGas 250. I like the Gasser better but it is a bit wider. Hardly noticeable unless you have the bikes side by side. I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem but when making deep left turns with my leg out somehow I tend to hit my knee/inner leg on the Beta this does not happen on the Gasser, so much for it being wider. With the KYB forks and the rear revalved and raised on the Beta it's a way closer fight. I can jump from one to the other and go race pace without issue.

Hi!
I have been searching for reviews on the new GasGas 250 without much luck. I had for more than a year a standard Beta 300 2016 and I have test rode a new standard 2018. Please provide some words on how the 250 GasGas engine compares. Is it an XC with the lighter flywheel or an EC? I had two different 2007 GasGas EC 250s and I really liked the character of the engine back then. Regards, Leon |

What about the 18 GasGas 250 against the Beta 300? Engine character wise.

Having ridden both extensively and back to back I'd give the nod to GG as well. Very polished and well sorted bike for a first year effort.
