Which way should it be installed - A or B ? (see attachments) |
A
I also use the axle to keep the spacer aligned when installing the outer bearing. |

They "look" different but the same purpose. It is the same put it in like gasgasman (the most knowledgeable person on this site) said or put it in like you want and do it again.

Have a close look at the spacer, it will have a step on it that ensures the torque of the axle nut only puts pressure on the bearing centre and not the seal/case area. A in the diagram above is correct.

http://www.gasgasrider.org/forum/member.php?u=1791 cbutler Firstly to both you guys, sorry if you felt any disrespect was implied by me. It wasn't intended as I have huge respect for you and anyone who takes the time to contribute to this forum. http://www.gasgasrider.org/forum/member.php?u=2703 Gasser Nate I totally understand the "putting torque pressure on the wrong part of the bearing" thing which is why I asked the question. I think I caused confusion because the drawings I put in the original post are not to scale, so sorry for that. I've now attached drawings of both A & B fitment which might help to resolve the question. To me B looks right, but would appreciate all your thoughts. Thanks. |
This one is correct.
