Rear Wheel Bearings Spacer - sprocket side - EC300 (2006)

Part No. BE250318056 superceded by BE555012509
Which way should it be installed - A or B ? (see attachments)

A

I also use the axle to keep the spacer aligned when installing the outer bearing.

I'm not convinced it is A for this spacer (BE555012509) which supercedes BE250318056. I've had a closer look and drawn it more to scale as per attachments. Seems to me like it B is the correct fitment?

That post refers to the old spacer BE250318056 which has been superceded by this new one BE555012509. They are very different.

They "look" different but the same purpose. It is the same put it in like gasgasman (the most knowledgeable person on this site) said or put it in like you want and do it again.

Have a close look at the spacer, it will have a step on it that ensures the torque of the axle nut only puts pressure on the bearing centre and not the seal/case area. A in the diagram above is correct.

I totally understand the "putting torque pressure on the wrong part of the bearing" thing which is why I asked the question.
I think I caused confusion because the drawings I put in the original post are not to scale, so sorry for that. I've now attached drawings of both A & B fitment which might help to resolve the question. To me B looks right, but would appreciate all your thoughts. Thanks.

This one is correct.
