EC250 or 300 purchase?
Hello guys, love the bikes. Im an MX rider looking for an enduro to play with. Had a 94' yamaha WR250 2-smoke back then. I still ride a 2 stroke YZ so I am naturaly inclined towards that 2 stroke direction. I have a line a new yamaha WR250F..........but I checked with the closest dealer I could find that "sells" gasgas bikes. He wants a couple grand to drive three hours to get an EC250 for $7200 or an EC300 for $7300....sight unseen. If I like than I pay the rest. He says they are EC's but dont have head or tail lights for DOT reasons. That sounds goofy. Are these prices inline and this the same EC that other USA buyers are getting? Any other tips? I think Ill get the 300 if all looks good.
Thx Scott |
Where are you???? What do you mean...."the dealer wants a couple of grand to drive three hours"???? Those prices are about right if its OTD. None of the bikes come with lights due to EPA reasons.

Is the power curve of the 300 more trackable and steady than the 250? |
Contact member RONALD BRUNDIGE. I believe he's acquired a couple more 07 ec300s. You will save significant money.

The 250 has a softer bottom end power delivery for tractable power. The 250 also revs out better. They are both great bikes any way you look at it. The 250 was good for me comming off of a 125. If you like bottom end grunt a 300 is the better choice. Hope this might help.

not to diss my own brand but ... looks like you are already a yammi guy ... a lot of new england woods racers swear by the yammie yz 250 2t for woods use. revalve the suspension and ad a flywheel weight and your good to go. you can ad a stator for lights too if you really want them. If you can't find a gasser that you like .... something to think about.
