FORK LOCKS FuBAR?!?!

Heh so just picked up my 07 fsr 450 the other day.

Just wondering.... Since it does have all the street leg am farkles, I DO plan on riding it to work etx...

However testing the lock on forks it didn't work, guy from gofasters told me to shake it but still no luck....

So..... Is there a) a trick to this. Or b ) something else that can be done or learned? Or c)
Or did my bike just come with a mismatched keys:lock?

Need help.... I been itchin to ride to work and just go places.... This is not just a "Enduro Cross" bike for my it is my "Everywhere Cross" 450 F***in Sick Ride :-D
Kinda need the fork locks for leaving it places for periods of time ...

Thanks!

My experience with all bike locks has been that you need to wriggle the key and the handlebars to get the lock to engage - similar to the sterring lock in a car. Otherwise just get a brake disc lock

The stock Leonelli steering lock turns counterclockwise.

counterclockwise? ...

So right now, the metal part of the lock (barrel?) is sticking out from the black part (body?) of the lock, that it is inside of.

When you say to to turn it CCW do you mean that I need to turn it counterclockwise is that to LOCK it or to UNLOCK it ?

Right now my lock is just "Stuck" in the "unengaged" position, I can turn the steering but I can't move the lock.

Is it possible I have the wrong key? I have tried wriggling and stuff, no dice :(

Also, DISC LOCK:
-who makes these,
-is it a model-specific part or will any generic one do?
Anyone have an example or recommendation or example of somtheing that will work?

most of your local M/C dealers should have these in stock (disk lock).

+1 on the disk lock most if not all steering locks can be broken with a quick snap of the handle bars.
