07 GG300EC - small hole at btm. of engine?

What is the small threaded hole for on the underside of the engine? It is located between the oil drain plug and the crankcase drain plug.

Also what is an approved sparkplug by NGK or Champion that is equal to the denso plug that comes stock on the 300?

I beleive its used in mfg for a jig. The older cases ran the ignition drain to a hole like that but the hole in my '07 250 is blind. NGK BR8EG or cheaper BR8ES works fine.

What do you guys use for a plug in your 125 GMP? I've been using a BR9ES. Just wondering if a 8 wood last better in the woods. The 9's seem fine on the track but not so much in the woods.

The 125 is my nephew's bike, and sometimes when running real slow and technical stuff it will foul a BR9. The BR8 works better in these conditions. If its open enough where the bike is on the pipe a lot the 9 gives no problems and we run it. Jetting is very good, and the bike makes good low end for a 125. I suspect that some head work may clean this up.

Thanks, I find the same with the 9's. I will be trying an 8 at the next scramble.
