WTB 1993 Honda XR 250 Frame
Looking for a sound frame. I think the 87 to 94 frames are the same. Cosmetics not important, going to powder coat it anyway. The peg mount on mine are a little bent and beat up.

Bump, any 84 to 95 XR250R frame would be acceptable.

Do like I did.
Get some foot peg mounts from an aluminum framed bike and weld those to the XR's frame. |
Would you have any photos?
|
I this on my Gas Gas. Sadly, photos disappeared.

No worries, nice thread, I may go with that type of repair. I just got it and I will start a build thread on it next week.:D

SUCCESS! Found a pristine 94 Frame, it was just delivered yesterday.:D

That is a good one to get. And earlier years (pre 1990) don't have tabs on frame for mounting rear master cylinder for rear disk brake.
The frame and swingarm are beefed up a tad starting in 91 over the previous years of that generation of XR. Brakes are a touch better too. The brake master cylinder on the front doesn't provide as much leverage as a CR master. I always put a CR front master cylinder on when I was racing them in the early and mid 90s... And after trying many different brake pads - I always ended up back with the stock nissin pads. Best feel, performance & wear. You can substitute XR650L brake pads in the front. They have more material to the inboard on the rotor - larger pad for better stopping. In '96 redesign they started using complete CR spec brakes front and rear.... jeff |
Thanks for the info! I actually have a CR front master cylinder sitting on the shelf.
I just did a test fit on the triples and forks to the new 94 frame. https://i.imgur.com/Fi1N0evl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/R2tuiWDl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/YQVVJxWl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/wsGojSll.jpg The steering stops are dead on match to the XR forks. The RM forks and the XR fork tubes are 36 inches from the bottom of the axle to the top of tube. |
Here is one more photo, stock rm caliper with bracket which bolts right up.
