1999 EC 250 Front Fender with WER Dampener
So I picked up this WER dampener. However it won't fit with my front fender without significant trimming. This is what the bike looks like.
http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...psxhjwax07.jpg I need the part where my finger is pointing to be flat. http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k5...psglrjrle3.jpg I really like the shape of my fender and number plate. I know whatever number plate I get will need to be trimmed, but I don't want to trim the fender. Any suggestions? |
The WER base is flat.. so maybe trim the tabs off the fender ,drill and tap studs in the WER base for the #plate.?? Your gonna trim the plate for the linkage arm any way right??

I have to drill holes. But the dampener hits the fender. Where I pointed. This is why I need a fender thats flat there. |
You could put spacers on top of the finder to lower it but then the tire may eat it when the suspension compresses.

I ran into the same issue with my 2005 EC 200. Had to use the spacers in-between the bottom of the damper and the fender. My fender was still all low hanging in the front so I used my heat gun to warm up the fender and a piece of wood in between the fender and tire to keep the fender up overnight. It has helped but still not great.
I found a fellow member had installed a YZ style fender and it looked more correct and nicer. But I never could find out which exact fender he used. If you find out let me know! Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk |
Make a new Z shaped bracket that bolts to the bottom of the triple clamp, but raises the damper above the fender.
