New rings, forgot to check end gap
So I put some new rings in the 300 and now realize that I neglected to set or check the end gap on them. I put 15 miles on it yesterday and it ran like a stolen camaro in a K-Mart parking lot. Am I begging for a catostrophic failure or being anal?

I wouldn't panic about it Paul.

Unless you have some major cylinder liner wear, there's no "need" to check ring gap.

I guess I was thinking they could be too tight and bind up, with new rings I have always fitted them in the jug prior to install and they were always above the spec, .5mm if i remember correctly. My wife is probably right I am obsesive about that bike in the garage.

No problem. Rings are the same size for all the piston micro sizes (A - D).
