Battery for 2018 Contact 250 ES

Hello, I am a new rider and bought a 2018 Contact 250 ES with a lithium ion battery under the seat that needs replacing. The factory battery was a TXT Part # ET40000GG-CKW-1 that Gas Gas no longer manufactures. The battery currently in the bike is a Power Thunder LFP7Z which exists but can't be imported into the US; won't clear customs, they say. I can't find a battery with the specific dimensions the original had, to fit inside the compartment under the seat. An EarthX FTZ5G will probably fit height-wise but is too small in the length & depth and may take some rigging to fill in. The KTM dealers say they didn't buy rights to the bike in the buyout and don't have a replacement battery and don't know what to suggest. I contacted most of the larger trials & parts dealers with no luck. Has anyone else run into this problem or have a suggestion? Thanks so much!

A typical ytz7s battery in either lithium or lead acid should be the same dimensions. Unusual that Ktm dealers are so useless as to not be able to figure out a battery cross reference. 🤦🏼*♂️
Alternatively take the battery to a battery store and they will have something on the shelf.

Thanks for asking! The EarthX ETZ5G (plus brass extenders) didn't fit (i.e. couldn't get the seat back on) and didn't close the gap between the positive post and starter relay. All the other batteries suggested or in use by KTM have been too large or posts are wrong. The local battery shop could find nothing in the US. One parts distributor says that KTM/Gas Gas stopped supporting the bike altogether so no battery available. Power Thunder still seems to be the only one available that fits but it's impossible to import. I'm trying a customs clearance agent next before I try whatever comes next??? Still, quite a fun ride:D

Build a new battery. I am not advising you to build a new battery as there may be dangers, however, most lithiam ion batteries are a collection of battery cells inside of the case. Many have built their own battery. Google search and be careful. It can be done. Also, pay attention to chargers and how they work. Lithiam ion batteries can be dangerous. I think lithiam iron batteries may be safer?????
