Some really great pictures.. sucks about the spectators getting killed/injured by a racer..

Great pics for sure and from a source you would never expect.

37 photos and closing in on 400 comments. Mostly possitive and many people in awe but the usual negative ones as well. I've read em all, at least the ones I could read. I posted a comment #65 days ago.

Ya go Jonah Street, go! local Washingtonian sits solidly in 7TH overall last I saw. Not bad for a guy who's day job is a carpenter.

He missed taking stage 11 by 3 seconds.

Go Rally Pan Am!!!

Nice pics!

Side note. I have ridden a few times with Charlie Rauseo brother Dave. Dave ran Dakar...2005 I think. And yes, I do feel special. :p

Has anybody seen how much it costs to sign up for this race?! Yikes. I thought the ISDE was expensive.

The best one on a non- team bike, name was Duclos, a french.
He said in an interview that the whole dakar is going to cost about 65,000 euros = 95,000 USD. My guess is that if you aren't going to compete for winning propably you can do it for 20 - 30 000 euros or 30 - 40 000 USD.

Edit. Here's a registration fee for motorcycle for motorbikes/ quads

I think I'll drive "Päijänteen ympäriajo" first. It's a lot cheaper :)
