Trail Tech X bars

Thinking of replacing the stock bars on my 03 DE200. I was looking at these bars from trail tech

http://trailtech.net/motorcycle_x-bars.html

Does anyone have them? Opinions? Also I couldn't find it on that page...but I don't think they are fat bars so they should just bolt right into the stock hardware correct?

Thanks,
Sam

i have been running the mt-m hp7 for about a year. they are very very strong, and do not bend in wrecks :) i regularly bent the renthal fatbars.. and they do not make cockpit feel cramped...i am a stand up rider.. i can't compare them to anything else, as i've forgotten what other bars feel like at this point... i know that i'd definitely buy them again - as i said, they are very tough.

they are oversized. - 28mm - 1 1/8" at clamp.

if you like the bars to be in your lap, and are a sit down rider, these will not work for that.. they have almost no sweep, and are very straight at the ends - very trials like. but much stronger..

thanks for the reply....they sound perfect for me, as I am also a stand up rider and find I am to hunched over with the stock bars. What additional mounts do I need to switch over from stock?

Thanks,
Sam

I use the Trail Tech X bars in the low woods bend. I really like these bars although I don't think thay are crazy strong like say a Renthal Twin Wall bar. They have a nice low sweep (40mm) which I like and a narrow center section with lots of bar space even cut at 30". I could drop to 29" and still have plenty of space for levers, bark busters etc. (although I use Bonz hand guard mounts). It's a 1 1/8" fat bar BTW. Not a bad bar for $50.

I was looking to go to the X-Bar Woods Low too. I'm running 7/8's now and it will cost me extra to go to 1-1/8's.

The problem with the 7/8 bars is that I have run out of room for equipment, primarily my BRZ route sheet holder and I'd like to mount my Vector on top of the bar clamp.

Ok total nube question. If I buy these bars I need new clamps an hardware to mount the brake and clutch res. as stock bars are 7/8ths correct? Do I need an specifc brand to fit? Or are those universal?

Thanks
sam

No, all that stuff will still fit fine. You just need the actual bar mounts for fat bars.

to look at some other options....does anyone have a recommend on a handlebar made for a stand up rider that will bolt into the stock hardware?

Thanks,
sam
