Rear brake line rubbing on case

My rear brake line seems to be rubbing on the case on my 07Ec300.
Has anyone else had this problem and what did they do?
I will probably cable tie it away from the case???
Cheers Mark

Are you talking about where it come out of the master cylinder, and makes a loop, and follows the swingarm? If so, mine has been rubbibg for years......no problems....I'm sure you could put a small wrap on it..

Yep, It comes out the MC , goes forward and then does a loop and runs toward the back of the bike along the swingarm. The loop rubs on the case.
A mate of mine noticed it rubbing on the case and as he has a Husky with the case that has nearly got a hole right through he was saying it should be moved so as not to eventually rub a hole in the case.

MY 06 300 does that. My game plan would be to put some jb weld in the spot it rubs and let it wear on the jb weld not the case. I've been wonder about something to put around the brake line so the jb weld could wear on that and not the brakeline. Although it kind of already has a rubber line cover.
Have also wondered if I could super glue a piece of teflon onto the case over the rub spot.

So it is a common problem or design fault then?

I think it depends on setup. If you go up in sprocket sizes the axle moves forward and causes the brake line to bunch a little.

Ok, I guess that would be right.
I had another look at mine yesterday and the line is sitting about 5 mm off the case while the bike is lifted on a centre stand.
I cannot really cable tie it to anything so I might place a few bits of self adhesive plastic overe the spot and just keep an eye on it.
Cheers Guys,
Mark

mine is a good inch from the case when up on a stand. i added a link or 2 to the chain when i went to 52 sprocket...it was rubbing before i changed sprockets...not rubbing anymore..

I think mine rubs even when the axle is back in the blocks. I'm running a 50t rear sprocket. I think I'm running 114 links, maybe 112. I actually started out long on the links but chain was too loose so I had to shorten it.

forgot - i'm runing a galfer rear line - maybe it's shorter...
