EC 300 2018 Starter motor question

Hi,

Is the starter motor on a 2018 300 the same as a KTM 2008-2016?

It seems to me.

Yep,350watts for the early ktm, then 2014 they went to the 415w unit.

It bolts right up but spins in the opposite direction. You will need to take the motor apart and spin the center body 180 degrees.

But you don't need to pull the end caps off, is that right TGM? Just loosen the bolts a little bit and spin the center body. I took the whole thing apart - pulled the end caps off and the winding out - and then it was very hard to get the brushes back in place.

I have only done it once but when I did it the back portion was in the center body very tightly, it would not have been possible to spin without taking apart. Yes it was a bit difficult to reassemble but not horrible. Luckily I have long fingers.

Thanks for this valuable advice, still waiting on the parts.

Hello TGM can you confirm the direction the GG motor is supposed to turn. My understanding if GG spins CCW and KTM spins CW. is that correct?
