Scorpion Radiator Guards

After having my right side radiator repaired (i seem to fall that direction the most) i ordered a set of scorpion radiator frames. Well, my dealer ordered the guards, after a brief discussion i decided to give them a try. They differ from the frames in that they offer both side and frontal protection, so your louvers are removed. Installation was straight forward and is on written instructions only, which i shockingly read but pictures would be nice. Once installed it is a very solid set up, nothing moves as the two guards are tied together after being bolted to the frame. The shrouds now sit a little wider at the front of the bike but after one ride i no longer even notice. I like them and would recommend them highly.

Check them out here scorpionracing.ca

Full roost,

I like their frames with the add on grill, and will go that route. I think they watch this forum and have an open mind about suggestions. They make nice stuff.

my buddies and i from the interior of british columbia give the scorpion products a big two thumbs up! They make some positively bombproof stuff. we don't have groomed trails/or even trails most of the places that we ride! so crashing/tipping/hucking/falling is a typical day around here. my plastics and graphics on my 11 ec 300 looks like chit, but my rads and engine are like new! thks scorpion, for making real tough products! Oh yah, they are a canadian company as well, they don't get their stuff made out of cheap materials oversea's!

There nice too, and if the '12 does use grommet shroud mounts like we think should be a direct bolt on. It doesn't matter which brace I get it will be modded anyway as I'm bolting the plastic on top and bottom, not changing what works. Its nice they have grills, but the lower shroud direct to the rad tab can bend and break the tab off if the shroud picks up a vine, sapling or brush in the real tight stuff and is pulled outward. Some of that stuff in south Jersey is like wire. If the lower mount is just a grommet then you would probably just lose the plastic.

I will be getting the Hd skid plate and was talking to the Oz distributor about the rad . guards vs rad . frames + grill.
He seems to think that the guards should be strong enough to stop any side damage and also frontal damage.
Who has them and what do they think?
I had Force rad guards n the 07 and they were brilliant so I want something at least as good again.
Cheers Mark:D
These are for the 12 by the way, not that that should make any difference.

I put them on the GG from day one, I have some other type on the ktm and I have dinged both radiators up pretty good by them bouncing off my knees when I fall :) these have been awesome about keeping things square and in good shape.

Thanks RG,
You are talking about the guards aren't you?
I don't realy want to buy the frame and the grill if the guard alone with the inbuilt grill works.
Cheers Mark

I run the just the frames, and I have been known to test the limits from time to time. They have never let me down.
