Is my pipe bent

When I bought the bike the pipe look a bit bent at the first bend and I have though it never ran quite clean, but I don't have anything to compare it to.
I went to fit a bash guard the other night and could not get it on. It hits the pipe when swinging it up. I could probably get it on if I took the pipe of first but it would still very tight.

Does this look bent?

Pics not very good I am afraid.

Looks ok.It's bent when the pipe is against the frame rail and rad hose. The first bend you talk of will have a big kink in it also.

Loosen up all the mounting hardware all the way to the silencer. Then move the pipe around to get the best clearance you can and tighten everything up. Make sure the frame tabs are straight. You an use strategically placed washers to help give you the line up / clearances that you need.

Thanks,
I could grind some of the bash plate too.
The bike did have a big crash the owner before the one I got it from. Bent the sub frame a bit, bent a radiator a bit, they where not changed, the forks were also damaged but they where fixed. So I think it's had a knock but not much by the sound of it.

I will have a play.

you will feel a ripple under the pipe as it exits the cylinder.

Mine was quite pronounced & should have caused an issue but swapping over to another pipe I couldn't feel the difference & it was heaps worse than that, I can't even see that.

you would normally be able to see if it has been hit hard enough to bend the pipe. also carefull inspection of the connection with the cylinder will show if it is not square.

i have a CF pipe guard so often get a bend close to the cylinder after a bit of thought it is fairly easy to bend it back to position with a bit of steel pipe and manpower (the USA pipe repair company -forgot their name - also shows how to do this)

that pipe looks pretty good to me. i have had to cut my sump guard there becaus i do not have enough clearance near the frame
