Piston change, B or C 300 2015

Hi guys, i?m helping a friend changing his piston on a EC 300 2015.

The cilinder is marked as A inside was a B piston, can we put a C or should we put another B?

Thanks.

I'd use an A or B.

Hi , I'm doing a 07 300 at the moment.
It is marked A, had a B in it . Im putting a cast B back.
Looking at the ridge at the top of the cylinder, I thought at first it was more worn . But It only measured 72.005.
I'd put back, a B if you can't measure or get it measured.

Hi guys just to let you know, my friend decided based on dealer recommendation that he will go with a C vertex piston, i saw on the vertex faq that the minimum clearance is 0.05mm so it should be fine.

Cheers.

He will probably get better cylinder compression if he get it measured right... The precise answer for your first question is to get the cylinder measured and go with the biggest piston that attends minimum clearance. Service manual says minimum piston play for the 300 is 0.06 mm. The play at assembly of the piston is determined by subtracting the smallest cylinder diameter from the largest piston diameter.

I am sure he did, but just make sure he measured the cylinder in multiple areas and directions because the cylinders do not wear evenly.
