Red or blue?
Finally, I got the ok from the house hold boss to retire my 2006 300 and get that 2008 300 I've been dreaming about for a while. :D
Heres my delema, what color should I get? I've had 2 blue ones now. Thinkin bout a change. I know its only plastic but it'll probably stay that color as long as I own it. What would you order? |
When I first saw the '07/'08 bikes in photos, I initially thought they looked plain. However, after seeing it in person (and now owning one), they really look much better than photos show. I love the deep, rich cherry red color that GasGas chose for '07. I'm assuming the '08 bikes are the same.

Me likes red.
It's not to be confused with Honda red, which is more orange. ps: It's great having wifes that "support" our habits.:D |
I guess since youv'e had 2 blue ones a new red one might be a nice change:confused: Me personally, I like the blue but would like to see them side by side to be sure. The fact that you even have a choice is a really nice option. Maybe they should offer yellow again too??
I'm Jealous;) Skidad in MA |
Sorry that was the first thing I changed on my 04 300 when I bought it. I got really tired of people asking me what kind of Yackaha was it. I ordered red plastics.
Go Red!:D |
I am personally a fan of the blue, But its your bike (unfortunately not mine :D ) so its entirely up to you. The red is nice too
|
I like the red and you are right , no one confuses them with Hondas but when I had my '06 300 every thought it was a Yamaha. I find the blue looks old fast. I really prefer yellow but red is great and it matches my truck too! (and car).
|
Hmmm, sounds like a familiar question.
I like blue, no red AAAAHHHHHHHHH! Seriously, I prefer the red. |
Red. You really like starting polls lately huh Roscoe?;)

Truly just trying to help keep us all amused on here and I think it is working. Plus I'm learning what others opinions are and its pretty cool to see how many that vote will also take a little time to add to the post. It tells me their interested in the subject and it means something to them too. But I'll tell you what this color of 300 poll results are so close I'm having a tough time writing either color off. I like em both! |
I voted blue in the poll , but get a red one:D .
Like it has been said earlier, nobody seems to confuse them with a Honda... |
Red
GO RED!!or motard black.
|
Well It looks as if it will be red thats all that's left that came in the shipment.
They do have a choice of a light or heavy flywheel though so thats more important than color. Looks like I need to start a new poll! Just kidding :D |

Back when the red was sort of pink, I would always change the plastic to blue, or black and white. Later, when the newer deep red came out (2001), I really noticed that the red looked better longer than the blue. After I got my first red DE250 ('05), the red bike with stock graphics was so pretty that I pretty much got hooked on the look. :D When I got my '05 DE300, and the '06 DE300, they both quickly looked like a stock DE250. (I have a complete set of stock '06 200 plastics with graphics waiting, if I decide I want to change colors for a while, as well as a spare set of stock red '06 250 plastics with graphics just waiting for when these get too grubby looking. I have not broken any of the original plastics, yet.) I attached a photo of my '06 300 (and Joshua's '99 250) that was taken a couple of weeks ago, during the lunch break while we were working trail for the upcoming Bear Creek hare scramble (AHSCS on March 16th). It isn't particularly cleaned up for the photo, but is in "middle of a ride" condition. If it shows as a thumbnail, just click on it to enlarge the photo. Good Riding to You! I vote red, but on mine, I'd like to try yellow sometime.
|
I've had all three colors. I think I had far fewer confusion from other riders when I rode the red one. Personally, my favorite was the yellow. It looked great for a long time, and it just looked sharp. Yellow and black are a striking combination. Add Gold forks and it's even sweeter. I've often thought of switching to the yellow plastic on my 300, complete with "200" stickers! That'd be fun.

The blue EC's look the ducks guts but I'm not sure about this (thanks to TodoTrial for the pic):
