What springs transfer?
 

Does anyone know what springs are transferable with the Marzocchi 45mm forks and the Ohlins rear shock found on the 2011's. I've heard that Yamaha springs are transferable? Is this true?

I find these forks to be terrible in stock form. I know its been said over and over on this site but they really need improvement. I traded bikes yesterday with a friend and his 11 KTM 300XC and wow, what a difference. Both bike have stock suspension and the KTM was so much smoother and controlled to ride. I'm almost ashamed to admit I didn't want to trade back. The GG transmits every bump and root ride through the forks and into the handlebars of the rider. I'm 210lbs in street clothes, a A level rider, so I know that I need heavier springs, but keep in mind the KTM was stock as well. Clickers seem to do nothing.

Good thing I can do a lot of suspension work for the difference in price between the two bikes.

I agree. I rode a 320 kitted 2010 KTM sxf up until feb and that suspension was night and day better than my new bike.

I can say that I got a ride on 11 xc300 that was sprung and revalved for someone 40-50lbs heavier than me, it had barely any hours on it and it was better than my bike. So we know it has potential. It felt really good.

I called Cannon Racecraft and they made me a set of fork springs. May want to check them out. Ohlins in NC can hook you up with a shock spring for a great price.

My revalve is on the way soon. I can't wait. The bike will just get better. I'm really liking it so far.

Search and read about all the free bleed in the fork valving, that's the problem, and makes the springs seem even worse. This in turn will make the shock feel funny.

My shop is the EE suspension centre for Canada and we keep lots of Zoke springs in stock.

So Zoke's and Ohlins use there own springs? Nothing transfers?

i have a sachs spring on my ohlins rear. it's an early (2000) ohlins with no high speed compression adjuster. not sure if the bodies changed on the newer ones..
