2009-2012 200's

I've seen a few 200's (a 2009 EC 200 and 2012 XC 200) for good prices here in the midwest but I have hesitated as there just doesn't seen to be much info/feedback on them. Yeah, same engine case/frame as the 250/300, heavy but good handling, not as much low end as KTM 200, etc. Anyone got feedback in addition to what's already out there?

My experience isn't first hand.. But a good friend's son won a GNCC title on a '12 or '13.. Last week he mentioned that as far as he has found it is the best turning dirtbike ever made. He's also a TM, GG, AJP dealer and a fast A guy himself.

I owned a 2012 EC200, aside from it being a little heavy, it was a fantastic bike, wish I still had it.

I love my '01 XC 200. I've got a '17 FE 250 Husky 4T as a dual sport bike, but if I'm riding strictly dirt, I'll ride the GG. It just seems to do everything well, imo.

I weighed it not too long ago. Full of fuel, using my wife's digital bathroom scale, it weighed 252 lbs full of fuel. (It still has Headlight/tail/brake light)
Subtracting for 2.5 gal of premix puts it at 234 lbs.

Last year, a friend let me try his new KTM 250 TPI He rode my GG. He said he was surprised at how much low end grunt it had (for a 200) I've added a 12oz FW weight to help out the low end grunt.

Whatever, it feels light out on the trail.

I'm an old guy, been riding dirt for longer than I care to admit, so take that fwiw. I want a dirt bike to have enough good, usable, easy to control power for trail riding. My GG has that.
