I've just had some new spacers turn up that I had on back order. They are very different to the old. They are a little thicker, have a smaller OD - i.e would not fill the hub and have an odd chamfer on the outside that I can see no purpose for. Dealer swears these are what the factory are supplying now
Can anyone offer any advice? Have they changed a lot? |
Do you mean like this http://www.gasgasrider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=2566 ?
I had the shop rebuild my rear wheel with the allballs kit, they must have thrown out the spacer, and just run the bearings, it probably lasted 200 odd km before the sprocket side spacer broke the center of the bearing and ceased onto the spacer. Made a rather strange noise after that....haha. I was lucky it lasted that long though, because it happened after a ride where there were sections that were tapped in 6th gear over sandy whoops, would not have been cool for them to fail then. The shop replaced them at their cost, with the spacer :) no problems since. |
Noobi,
No not like that. The ones in the link look like I was expecting. These things are weird. By the way I don't think Allballs supply the spacer. Never been one when I've bought their kits. |

Thats correct, allballs do not supply the spacer so make sure to keep it!!!, and tell the shop that its there so they dont loose it. Not telling you ian, just a general warning |
