O-RINGS Vs Oil seals in linkage

Just worth sharing. I last did my linkage and swingarm bearings nearly 4 years ago! Decided last night was the time to re grease, and the only bearing that was dry and shagged was the bottom shock bearing, the only one that had a 'proper' oil seal!

Long live o-rings!!!!

The O-rings work really well! I think they should be considered the "proper seal" :-)

I think the O-rings just add a bit more friction. You have a larger sealing surface, thus better seal at the cost of some resistance. Is the difference noticeable or does it hinder rear suspension performance?? Not that I can tell, and definitely works better than typical seals which have allowed crap into the bearing rollers...

And to top it all the orings in my linkage are from 2010
