GG300 wild alternator

Hi,

How do we remove the alternator nut? Mine is a 30mm socket, and I dont know if it is rigth or left-hand thread. How do we block the crankshaft or flywheel, without damaging it?

I will be grateful for your help.

If it uses the same crank as the bikes its a normal thread and spins off with an impact tool.

And how do you prevent the crankshaft to spin?

If you have the imact tool it will loosen it w/o it turning. They also make a flywheel holding tool or a piston blocking tool that keeps the motor from turning.

A 1/2" drive air-powered impact wtrench will buzz it right off. You can hold the flywheel with your hand to keep it from spinning. A high-quality 3/8" drive impact will do it too.
If you don't have air tools handy take the spark plug out and feed about about 6" of 3/8" or 5/16" nylon rope onto the cylinder (leave the end hanging out so you don't lose it. It will lock up the engine when the piston comes up against it and shouldn't cause any damage.
It would be better to just load it up and pay someone at the local repair shop to buzz the nut off with air tools. Good luck.

It is impossible to hold the alternator flywheel with hands. The nut (30 mm socket) is so tight that it will not come off with the impact wrench, because it make the flywheel to spin together with the nut.

May I have to diassembly the clutch to hold the other crankshaft nut?

I never tried to lock the piston through the spark plug hole.

This tool is designed to hold the clutch ot your flywheel, $30.

I will try to lock the piston, since the rotor has a round shape.

thanks for help.
