Cross over reference updates?
Hi Guys just wanting to know if anyone has successfully crossed over parts that are not listed in the Parts cross over guide,
good to know for future reference, Cheers, Chad |
Guessing not

My guess is all the easy to find stuff has been found, plus the newer models seem to have less crossovers.

Chad, what year bike are you riding?
here are some crossovers for a 2007 EC300, may or may not help https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otDJ677FXUs |
crossover can be tough for the different years. Many parts that fit my 07 LOOK like they will fit my buddy's '11, but actually DON'T. ie, front and rear brake pads look very similar but don't fit.

Brake pads are pretty generic (read available). There have been changes during the years, so best bet is to simply take your old ones into a shop, and find a cross reference model/brand that works for your application, and then remember it. Gas Gas, Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, all use the same pads in some application. From memory, there was a change to the rear calliper in from 09/10 with Gas Gas going to a shorter rear pad.
Brake levers, never sourced. Not sure. Bearings, all available through the local store. Allied bearings has served me well. Usually take the old bearings and seals in and they'll match them up. Once you know your parts add to your own list. I generally buy doubles and keep them as my spares. Not sure about the 4T range, but on the 2T the kick starter crosses over with Yamaha (most models). Haven't looked into replacement/after market brake pedals or gear shifters. I think a Yamaha brake pedal could work with some minor modification. Chain sliders and guides are available OEM, TM Designworks, or Bullet Proof. TMD are pricey, but last really well. |

Kickstarter
Yamaha part number. 5NX-15620-20-00 Try here ~90 US at time of posting [edit opps they've gone up since I ordered] http://www.powersportsplus.com/parts...FU1spAodR3xVzQ I just had two of these delivered, one for a mate & one for me, both for our '07s. They fit up real easy, mate used a copper sump washer to add extra pressure. He spent weekend before using it & sent me a big kissy text (ok not really) banging on about it. Fitted mine last weekend & it seems good but I can't ride yet, did start it. |
