Pipe Cleaning?

Okay guys it is pouring down cat's & dog's here in Houston and I was suppose to be riding today!

So I figure I will go out into the garage and spend a little time with the bike cleaning & stuff like that.

I noticed my pipe is getting a bit dirty so I thought about taking the steel wool to it but wanted to get you input on pipe cleaning.

So what do you use?

Thanks,
Boom

One of the best cleaners to remove spooge, grease, dirt and grime is WD-40. Spray it on, let it soak a bit and then wipe the crud off. Follow up with a soap and water wash if you pipe is plated or painted. If the pipe does not have a surface finish, I would just leave the WD-40 residue on to protect against corrosion.

WD-40 is a superb hand cleaner for spooge, grease, grime, oil based paint, caulks... (Please note, some people may be sensitive to using WD-40 as a hand cleaner.)

I buy WD-40 by the gallon.

I always use a scotch brite pad or a Brillo pad on the outside.

If you really want to see a performance boost, clean out the carbon build up inside your pipe. It is quite amazing how quickly and how much carbon builds up inside your pipe. It is also amazing how much better the bike will run. Pull that pipe off and clean it inside and out.

Set the pipe down on concrete, place a propane/cutting torch where the flame is blowing inside the the pipe. Let it heat up real good. Then take a handful of pebbles or small rocks and throw them inside the pipe. Put on gloves and cover each end to keep the rocks from coming out, then shake the sh!t out of it. Dump out all the carbon. Repeat a few times.
