I hate to poop on some of the photos but that 200 looks more like the 125 with a photoshopped swingarm sticker. It has the same motor and pipe, but in reality it has the same bottom end as the 250/300 and a similar shaped pipe.

New bikes are exciting all the same.

They're from the french gg site. I thought the 200 pipe was a bit small too, but I believe everything I see.:rolleyes:

IMO, the GG 200 -should- be based off the 125cc, like the KTM 200, it would be way lighter and flickable... I wonder if it is?

If you look at the specs the 200 is grouped with the 125, but the details still say it's the same bottom as the 250 and 300. They may be moving that way, who knows what 2008 willl bring.

The 200 is already light and flickable.

I don't know, I kind of like the 200 built from the 250-300. It's kind of like the difference between a quarter and sacajawea dollar. One has more power, but in your pocket they both feel the same. I prefer things over-engineered, the Gas Gas 200 is most definitley that.

Plus, it's way easier to swap parts between 200-250-300's than it is to find a Gas Gas 125 in the US. If you know of any 125's in the US, I'll be impressed.

In side by sides, the EC200 always holds it's own against the KTM 200 anyhow. If it ain't broke - don't fix it.:)

I know of one! Fury1 raced one and took first in NETRA Enduro Series - B Bantam in 2005. He now has a 300 and sold the 125 to a freind.

Point well taken - I never road a GG 200 so I can not say, but owned a 200 KTM and rode a newer one and they sure are light. I just read the Dirt Rider mag comparison. An A rider in the Texas Enduro series ran a 125 GG and really did well on it. I guesss I still would prefer a 200 GG based on a 125 - that is just my opnion. I am pleased that you really like your 200 - but I am a 300 guy. I had a Husky TE 250 4 stroke and it was a tug boat putting it on my bike stand, but once underway and riding it felt very light and flickable. As far as over engineered, I find out I am my own worst enemy and over engineer my bikes and many times have to go back to stock, but the is half the fun for me anyway...
