Very cool. I wish I would have kept my marshall JCM. I still have my dual rectifier, very sweet sounding head. Im still strumming on a 1990 Les Paul studio, I replaced the bridge pick up with a humbucker out of a 1982 Shecter Telecaster, have a few acoustics and a 1959 semi-hollow Kay Swingmaster. Ive also got 1945 Alamo tube amp made in San Antonio, Texas, I just replaced the original tubes and re-wired/soldered some of the electronics. It has a really cool tone from it. The later two pieces where handed down to me from my father.

Right on! Sounds like we would be really good friends if we lived closer ;)

Curling looks about as exciting, as watching paint dry. Yet, if channel surfing...I stop at Curling, and watch. I don't know why, but it's fascinating:D

It might be 'cause I really enjoy Shuffleboard.

Still cheaper than a boat "A big hole in the water...you pour money into"

gassergrant 04-11-2014 01:06 AM

It took time and money to get it like that but the grin factor is high lol it was worth it

Almost finished with a mild restoration of a '78 Honda twin. It will be a fun commuter scooter...just a few more days:D

One of my all time favorite cars. I'm a sucker for hatchbacks and five doors with boxy flairs!

This is a great thread! It's fun seeing what other people with similar interests do in there "off-bike" time.

I mountain bike quite a bit, especially since I have a pretty extensive trail system just up the street. Ogden city has been really been working with riders to make some great biking trails and even been working on a downhill mtb park.

I also tinker quite a bit in the garage with old dirtbikes, trail 90's, little bikes... Etc. every now and then I'll drag some RC cars out and play a little. Not as often any more, but time is a premium these days. I also snowboard when the snow is good.

Other than that I guess traveling would be another hobby.

crackalope 07-27-2015 05:29 PM

I do a fair amount of hunting, and guitar playing. Raced on 4 wheels with the SCCA for about 20 years but gave that up (and boy is my checkbook happy) about 2 years ago. I just picked up the golf clubs again after a 25 year hiatus That roughly coincided with my playing with cars. http://rallye-sport.com/portfolio-items/karl-mccoll/

Fat tire mountain biking

I got hooked on a new hobby this summer, single track mountain biking with a 2016 Specialized Fatboy Trail. I've been on a road bike for years and in June started hitting the single track trails with some buddies on a std. mountain bike. After watching how much the fat bikes excelled in traction for climbing, cornering, roots and rocks here on the bluff country single track I had to have one and I love it! Plus, I'll be able to rock it all winter long:D This somewhat reminds me of a dirt bike, wider bars and for how fast you can blast thru a corner and not wash out unlike a normal mtn. bike. I only ride it on trails and off road, other bikes are better suited for road use obviously. It has a 1 by drive train, Bluto suspension fork, Hyd. disc brakes, dropper seat post and 4.6" tires.

motorhead 10-02-2015 12:23 PM

Bear with me, as I suffer from GHF, or as my wife calls it, gotta have fun.
I have become reacquainted with my 98' GT Karakoram mountain bike this year, A friend picked up a used Gary Fisher and I don't like to ride alone for safety reasons so. I like to fish-ALOT, this is not in any way species specific, and I love getting outside in January to ice fish! Been Kayak fishing as much as possible in my new 10' Old Town this season-Amazing! Which brings me to my favorite-Canoe camping, nothing better than paddling/fishing all day and sandbar camping/cooking at night, wake, rinse, repeat. Also enjoy shooting sports, Squirrel hunting and whitetail deer-archery and slug. Enjoy walking/exploring also but the bicycle has cut into that as of late.

Rod Overstreet 10-13-2015 05:17 AM

Gosh...other hobbies? I've tried hunting, golf, fishing, mt bike riding....the list goes on, but I have yet to find anything that thrills me as much as riding a motorcycle. I recently picked up a KLR650, and really enjoy getting out on the back roads here in rural KY and watching the fall season come into full color.

I just joined the gang. Got this to replace an old specialised dual suspension mountain bike and absolutely loving it. Heaps more traction in the snotty stuff, and just as quick as the old bike.

It's the way to woods ride on a pedal bike! If anyone's on the fence about one of these for trail riding or snow riding, rent or borrow one, it will change your mind.

It is work but on a good day it doesn't feel like work.
Have played with trials bikes for the past 35 years...that is my favorite form of 2 wheel travel.
From my work trade you don't need to guess very long where my user name came from.
Was doing a job at a local college and the day care center was beside where we were working, had a bunch of the kids come out and sing a song for me...it was "Boom Boom the blaster man"....that stuck with me so I used it.

My days with explosive also help pick my username.

Same here...moto is the only one that I'll be in agonizing pain, and it still puts a smile on my face.

Fish keeping, but on hold for now ... sold the 210g tank to make room for the EC 300.

Lotus54 12-04-2015 10:02 AM

Along with motorcycle (street, dirt, trial)
Kind of a Lotus nut (I've had 8)
I did a body-off restoration on a type 54 (source of name)- I'd like, to do it ago again.
I don't have one at the moment, but another will come my way.

Also I've done loads of hiking since I was a kid, used to Do quite long 'cross-country' (meaning off trail) trips. After yars of working Trail Crew here at the Park (out 8days at a time) I do mostly day trips now.

I like working on the bikes, modifying ec as much as riding. I'm working in learning more about TIG welding (have a MIG and TIG and Gas). I'm looking at a small lathe also.

I still do photography, I used to. Sell a lot but didn't like the 'hustling' to sell them.

Music- I still really like to play and record. Used to do gigs but now just do what I want and when I Want. I play saxophone (with a lean to the outside).

Ski- Randonee setup now. But I havnt gone out much last few years.(almost no snow last year)
