Can't get S-12s Whats next best
Hi Guys,
I have been waiting 3 months for my dealer to get me a full set of Michlein S-12s for the start of the enduro season and he says he cant get them. What is the next best mud tire for sticky, snotty Carolina and Georgia red clay? I tried Dunlops and they couldn't pull a greasy string out of a gooses butt. Thanks, Dennis |
Try the Maxxis SI tires or the new Dunlop 952 tire. The S-12's have gone to crap and chunk.
I have run the Maxxis SI's and really liked them. |
I ran an IRC VE33 in a rock run a few weeks ago and it worked very well, much like the Pirelli MT16. Held up great too. I'm leaving it on for a sand run this Sunday so we will see how it crosses over. New S12s suck like Boom said, front was wasted in a few rides. You can also try a Mitas C10, pattern is much like an S12.

Pirelli MT32 rear and MT83 front... you won't be sorry. M12s are about the worst tire I have ever tried... Good luck.:D

I love my Trelleborgs in the muds and roots T-754 Ten Masters in the rear and T-914 MaxiGrip in the front.

I'm running Maxxis IT in the rear and an SI in the front. I'm loving the combo.

I have given up on the S12s, mostly because of the price.
Lately, I have been running the Maxxis SIs and so far they are working good and are about 40% cheaper than S12s, in Canada at least. |
I have been using the mitas c10 on the rear and the new c19 in the frt. they are a close 2nd to the s12's. glad I'm not the only one that thinks the s12's have gone to shite the last couple of yr's.

I use Maxxis ITs for practice and Kenda Milville tires for racing. I love the Milville, but it wears out too fast to practice with one.
