Linkage bearings!!!

Hi guys!

The link bearings on the rear suspension of my bike are slack!
Too much slack!
But my bike has only 20 hours...
My mechanic said that this is happening frequently in the European premium bikes like KTM, SHERCO, BETA...
My GASGAS is the only one in the region, so he did not know how to say if this is also recurring in new GASGAS...
In my YAMAHA WR 250 1995 and in my HUSQVARNA 360 2002 I did not even remember that these bearings existed as durable as they were.
Has anyone also had this problem with link bearings so recently?

is it all of them or just the one at the bottom of the shock? This one always goes quickly if you don't grease it regularly.

I assume the newer bikes don't have the o-ring and washer seal setup. that system works awesome, but not sure what effect it plays on the suspension as it is quite sticky

On the bottom!

Grease?

20 hours?

Yes, old suspensons have a o-ring and washer seal...

Actual bikes do not have.

Business...

Yes. Many bikes are delivered with almost dry linkage, swingarm and steering bearings. When you buy a new bike, it may be a good idea to take it apart and grease it. Not only Gasgas, but other makes as well.

Mine has 36 hours (EC 300 2019) all linkage bearings and the floaters are gone west. No rust but just defective

synergy seals used to make teflon bush replacements for the linkage, not sure if they still operate.

have had them in my bike for years now, only the shock bearing that i have to replace (the teflon bush was the wrong size so this one has been normal bearing)

I could get INA or SKF high quality bearings but I can't get the darn bushings. That would mean to buy a GG repair kit plus the high quality bearings. I couldnt find anyone who can offer the bushings alone

Doc, if you've already done the research - do you have part #s for SKF?

I haven't taken my linkage apart, but it might be worth putting in new bearings before my bushings wear...although isn't bushing wear due to the material in the bushing itself? If so, I might as well run the stock bearings until all need replacement.

Let's put this into a question - will high-quality bearings cause less wear to the bushings than the stock bearings will?

Thanks,

Jeff
