new clutch drive plates

ok i bought honda clutch drive plates, and now i need to put them in. im assuming they need to be soaked in oil correct? ive seen some that dont but i dont know the difference. how would you go about soaking them? old ice cream pail and some oil in the bottom?

i have always heard that also.. and i usually put mine in a zip lock baggie with oil a day or so before install... don't know for sure, has never been a problem doing them that way...

when you soak them don't soak them in a stack... you want oil all around them. i usually use a ziplock bag and move em around every 15 minutes or so, for an hour or 2. i dunno how long they really need to soak, but soaking them when they're not compressed in a clutch pack is the key. they need to swell a bit i would assume, or they'll just burn up when you slip them.. ice cream pail will work fine. just seperate the plates as best as you can.

thats what i always liked about the zip locks... you could move them around and make sure they all got oiled good with out getting it on your hands or anything else ending up in the oil....
