04 starter motor
 

any one upgraded the 04 starter motor to their 03 gas gas 450. does it make starting easier ?

Yes, I bought a 04 cam, and installed it myself. The 04 starter, and a couple of gears that turn the flywheel with a different ratio, was done by a GG mechanic. Made a huge difference.
My 03 blew a head gasket, due to the plastic impeller. It got real hot before I owned it. So, while that was getting repaired I told the owner of the small Gas Gas shop, make it spin like the 04's, and he did.

IMO well worth the money. Make it more reliable for $600, or spend $7000 on a new or different bike.
