Hi guys, wondering if someone can tell me what this is in the picture and if it needs a pipe on it or is it a temp sensor or something?

It is the transmission/case vent. It should have hose on it that is routed up and over the radiator with the end pointing down

Yes, sir. Basically any hose will do.
