Air box pictures requested!
New owner of a 2005 Gasgas EC250 converted to 07-11 plastics & airbox etc. ( I think?)
Unfortunately the previous owner I believe has used all the wrong bolts for the airbox to air boot connection leaving it warped and i'm sure has air gaps. If anyone has pictures of there 07-11 air box to boot connection I would really appreciate it! Here is a picture of what I currently am working with: https://ibb.co/mhP2nt7 https://ibb.co/ZV27v6J https://ibb.co/MSd0YrN https://ibb.co/mhP2nt7 https://ibb.co/ZV27v6J https://ibb.co/MSd0YrN https://ibb.co/rw2NKYT |
They don't typically use bolts on the new ones at all. It's a double lip.. Think of a grommet. One side sits in the airbox and the filter seals against it. The other holds the air intake/boot in the void in the airbox. Even though it can move around etc it's entirely sealed internally.

I've seen the manual before, I guess I'm not totally seeing how its supposed to go together. The metal ring looks like it has holes in it for bolts??

The metal ring isn?t used on those models. Only for the early ones. The later models use a spring loaded pin to hold the filter in place against the air boot.

I have a spare air boot here that I can take a photo of if it helps you visualise.

Here is a picture of a 2005 with the 2011 update kit. The air boot has a double lip that goes on each side of the air box so the seal between the two isn’t critical. (The air filter seals to the air boot directly)
