Chinese Radiators 2002 EC200

Hey all,
I am deep into a rebuild of my EC200, what started as an engine lock up is now a frame off rebuild. Fun (and a very mad wife).

I had my rad's boiled and leak tested, and all good, but they are very beat up, bent, twisted, crushed fins, smashed in side... I sorta fall off a lot and hit stuff :o.

Even though they are good for leaks, the shape they are in makes it hard to mount up and line up the shrouds, I was looking at brand new rads on ebay, they come from China. Has anyone ordered these rads? Maybe they are the OEM ones and I shouldn't worry. Maybe I should be happy that the 9 year old rads I have don't leak and take a lot of abuse instead of dumping $200 into new ones.

All comments appreciated!

Thanks!

Maybe ask which ebay seller the people in this thread bought from, they seem to think the chinese rads were good quality.

Have Mylers straighten yours before giving another dime to China. Then get some good braces.

Myler's Radiator Repair in Utah can fix rads that seem beyond hope. Fixed my leaking 2002 300XC radiator, and welded it to reinforce it earlier this year for $50 plus shipping. I wouldn't take chances with a Chinese radiator. Save your extra money for some good radiator guards.

I hear the Chinese radiators are made of mostly lead, so make sure you dont eat them! :D

But still I'll avoid any Chines product... Why China should have my money when it's needed more in Europe or US? Rather paying a little more to buy "local" stuff...

By all means spend your money local. But if a rad(s) are completly munted the chingas are a well made piece of gear to replace oem.A mate fitted a pair to his 07 and they can't be faulted.

Good advice all. I wish I woudl have asked first. I spent $60 at a local rad shop and all they did was boil, flush and test, no I have a really clean bent and mangled pair of rads, that don't leak at 20 psi!

I will send some pic's to Mylers and see what they can do for me.

As always, good advice...
