trail tech: speed sensor reed or hall effect?

I was wondering if anyone here knows if the trail tech speed sensor for gas gas is a hall effect if reed switch?
thanks

Reed switch.
Hall effect won't use a magnet.

Hall effect sensors do use a magnet. Industrial air cylinders have a magnet attached to the piston that triggers a hall effect sensor to indicate end of stroke (hall effect = transistor).

Reed switches (mechanical device) have a finite life span; the little metal "reed" can only flex so many thousand times before it breaks off.
