2019 ec300 start failure
 

After 9 hours bike failed to start. Just heated back from dealer that the woodruff key has sheared off. All will be sorted on warranty but it?s still wank however you look at it 🤮

That's a shame but at least it was an easy fix, let's hope you have many hours of reliable and fun riding ahead of you.

I reckon the guy on the production line responsible for tightening the flywheels needs to have his torque wrench recalibrated, I heard of at least one other late 2018 bike shearing the woodruff key...:rolleyes:

If there's any other owners of 2018/2019 bikes reading this, I would recommend checking the flywheel nut for correct torque, might just prevent you getting stranded somewhere!

40 Nm according to the workshop manual. Use threadlock.

Hmmm mine has stopped and has a back fire on about 3 or so hours on it (128km) . About to compression test and check the flywheel key ....mine is a 19 also .

It could also just be a fouled spark plug, I would try a new plug first.
