GAS GAS EC250 2011 Base cylinder gasket

Hello everyone
I just got a new piston for my GAS GAS EC 250 2011 and the new gaskets. In the package there are two base cylinder gaskets. One is thicker than the other. Which one should I use?

easy answer, compare to the old one. More technical, do a search for "base". Tons of threads on this subject.

I used both on my 11 300. I really liked the way it ran after that.

Some people like going thinner, to reduce the squish and raise compression. Note that the 0.004 super thin one is a shim that is not a gasket.

Is that the transparent plastic one that comes in the Athena kits?

Thats the gasket kit that I got. Is that plastix useful?

Curious as well. Doesn't seem like a good idea in my mind unless sandwiched between two others. Just don't see there being a reliable seal plus the potential of melting. No idea what it's for.

Thanks anyway
I just finished my bike. I used the thicker gasket and the bike is working well. I dont know how it will be enduro riding but I dotn think it will be so much different

Sorry for the delayed response. I am not familiar with the Athena kit. The GG kits come with a super thin shim that looks like a gasket.

Just adding to this post as I'm doing my top end as well. It looks like my 04 EC300 has a black and green gasket stock, which I measure to be about .033" which equates to .89mm. I figure it aligns with the .8mm that would be expected if the gaskets were new and I had good measuring skills ;-)

.8mm = .0315"
1/32 = .03125" = .794mm.

Close enough? I ask because I have a roll of 1/32 Felpro gasket material I use for things like clutch covers, etc. I've read some posts where people recommend using a single thicker gasket over the stacking method.
