Seat Concepts

Seat Concepts now offers a 1" lower seat for the '18 GasGas'.
They also offer the stock and taller heights.
Applications cover 2000-2019 years.

I installed the 1" lower Seat Concepts seat foam and cover.
This is a great mod for short people like myself, 5' 8".

The foam doesn't feel thinner at all. The foam has just the right density.
I find it easier to sit up on the tank .
The seat doesn't look goofy at all.

I wish I hadn?t given my SC cover away. :(

Stock seat for comparison.

That looks nice!

Sry but I just found from 2012 on...

I looked at a 2018 GG seat. There must be 200 staples in there. And some of the side staples are in a narrow groove. I couldn?t budge them.

With this seat concepts product do they just send you the cover and foam and you have to take apart your old seat and put it back together with the new stuff?

gasgasman 10-24-2018 07:09 AM

Yes. You have to reuse your stock seat base.

Was the seat height noticeable ?

I am also 5ft8

I had mine re-engimineered by Mario at Topline Upholstery in Seaford.

I was 5'10 a few years ago. Dunno now, haven't looked.

He was surprised at the construction of the GP seat with very high density foam in the middle, that looked like carpet underlay construction.

I found it only slightly more compliant than pine. Yes, I know I should be on the pegs, however.

Took it out yesterday and did 80KM in Anglesea Vic on a variety of tracks and much less arse hurt today.

Yes it is.
I don't notice the thinner seat foam, while riding.

Where did you get it from?
I have found I can get it from seat concepts directly and also from https://gasgaspartshouse.com/

So just to clarify.

When you purchase the seat, does the cover come pre attached to the foam?

When you install it on your bike (i have not looked at the existing seat), but I assume there are some bolts to take off the original bracket/plastics to bolt them onto the new seat?

Or is it more involved then that?

Jakobi 03-14-2019 12:28 AM

Normally the cover is just stapled into the plastic base. Pick the old ones out and remove foam and cover. Put new foam in place, attach cover at the front centre and work your way back ensuring it all stays nicely tensioned and true.
