04 FSE 450 - Service Interval and Maintinance Help

I have an 04 FSE 450

I am just coming up on the 1500 mile mark and I am wondering what I need to do (besides oil change etc. ) to keep my bike in perfect shape.

-When do the valves need to be adjusted?

-What should I do besides the basic maintinance to keep this thing running good? Are there any big things that I should check or have checked?

When they are out of spec's, 0.10-0.15mm intake, 0.20-0.25 mm exhaust

Clean the oil screen underneath the tranny, there's a rectangular lid under the engine, just remove and clean.

You might consider a valve change. I have seen/heard several '04 FSe that had the valve plates separated from the shafts. Makes a real mess of the top end. I don't know if the valves on -04 are bad, or if they have broken because of burnt valves due to no valve clearance. The Suz DRZ400 valves fit right in.
