Charging phone on 2011 EC300

Im wondering if and how i can wire up a charger for my phone.

Im planning on using my Samsung S4 as a tracker but the battery will not last long enough. is there a way i can connect a charge lead to the bike.

I have a car charger i could adapt to wire up but not sure if it will work as not great with electrics, i dont know if it will be suppling to many amps etc.

Thanks in advanced.

Get on eBay and buy a 10,000mah battery pack for your phone. Problem solved. Wiring a charger into your bike is more trouble than it's worth unless it's an e-start then it would be easy but now you will have a cord flopping around and eventually it will mess up the charging port in your phone

OR!! Buy a trail tech voyager. That's what I did best $200 I ever spent

You can get a handlebar mounted 12v usb socket or lighter socket that's water proof And just get yourself a decent charger lead
Socket has it's own wiring loom with built in fuse you just wire straight onto battery

I used this in my old yamaha dtr with iPhone 5 worked a treat

You will need to have a dc voltage source to charge your phone.

Would something like this be sufficient to last the day?http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...796607&alt=web

Yes something like that would do but if I was you I would look at the more powerful units. I've got a case on my iphone that's 18000 and it won't fully charge my phone and in sure if you are using your phone for gps you will use some power

Try the 50000MaH chargers there only ?5-?10 more

assuming you have a estart model would a 12v to 5v 3a step down work? to my limited knowledge the phone will only pull what it needs. and phones use 5v and 1-2A.

also you would just hook it up to the battery directly. the bike should charge it
