'07 ride report??
 

Anyone have an '07 to report on? Specifically in comparison to previous years? I want to make a decision on an '07 250 soon. Prices were dropped and I hear DE spec bikes are due in January.

i have own a 2004,2005,2006 and 2007 ec300.

as present i have a 2006 and 2007 ec300 and biggest differences between thos are

2007 has a very narrow and hard seat
2007 does not vibrate so much that 2006
2007 has much more rigid rear section of frame
2007 is more quiet than 2006
2007 engine is smoother than 2006
..

I just got my '07 EC300 today but I will not be able to give a ride report until spring because I am not a studded tire rider. It looks good and I'll have to see if the Sachs shock is a good as the Ohlins.

I was looking at one of those high zoot aprilia v twin enduro bikes that sell for $8100 ... It had a sachs shock on the rear. Can't believe aprilia would have put it on there if it couldn't do the job!!

Nothing wrong with the Sachs. They work great on Huskys.

my bike has öhlins front/öhlins rear (both..2006 and 2007)

I rode my buddy's '07 EC300 the other day. It was a short loop of 2nd gear tight stuff with good dirt and no rocks or roots.
He doesn't quite have the jetting sorted, and I wasn't used to riding with an auto clutch, but wow! does that bike turn !
My '03 EC300 turns a heck of alot better than my XR650 did, but nothing like the '07.
When I got back on my bike it almost felt like it wanted to straighten back out during the turn. It seemed like I could feel the gyro effect of the front wheel wanting to get back to vertical.
Do you guys have any tips on getting mine to turn a bit better ? I have the fork tubes up in the clamps about as high as possible, @ 6mm. Sag is @ 115mm.
It has LTR 124 pullrods. Maybe the shorter stock pullrods would help ?

I know what you mean!

Go back to stock 122mm pull rods on the '03. Run the sag at 105 - 110mm. Don't go overboard on the shock rebound, and run as much compression as you can without things getting harsh. The '03s have a more relaxed rake and the lower rear just slows things down. If your using the pull rods to soften the initial action, have Les revalve it instead.

The '07 250 is a dramatic change from my '03. You just drive the bike with the front wheel and it goes there, period. Its the frame/subframe, the few less pounds, and the suspension. Also the 250s feel lighter than the 300s because there is less yank when the throttle is opened. Honestly, this bike is totally awesome. The perfect amount of low end power with just good jetting and an LTR PV cover. I have a difficult hill to climb, with a series of ledges 2 - 3'. You hit the first ledge on the left, and do an immediate 90 deg rocky turn across the trail (about car width) to hit the next at the right about 20' up. Difficult turn. Its easy on the '07, wheelie, turn, wheelie, done.
