Finally got the bike out

Hello, I am a new member from central Minnesota. I recently bought a 2006 Gasgas EC 300 and I love the thing. I am coming from a Yamaha YZ 250, but knew I wanted a 300 after riding a KTM 300. The smooth and torquey power delivery fits my style perfectly. Also being 6'5" and nearly 300 pounds, the extra displacement helps. I ride single track with a mix of sand and mud most of the time. I used to race when I was younger, but haven't in a few years.

I've been wrenching on my bike getting it ready, and I finally got it out today. I've ridden it a few times to know I liked it, but now I am sure. Even though it snowed, then melted, the bike tracks really well, and powers out of corners nicely. I finally feel that I am in total control of the bike, rather than my old YZ which always felt like it was locked into a certain line. Anyway, happy easter.

That's awesome to hear/read man, good on you for getting out even if the white stuff was hitting the ground.

I haven't ridden a GG300, but I really dig my 200 and enjoyed ripping around on my brother-in-law's 250.

Great bikes and such a blast to ride, hats off to getting her sorted for how you want to ride.

Out of curiosity, was the YZ250 you refer to the MX bike of old, or the new 2T Yamaha released aimed at the enduro market?

It was a 1999 Yz, but they were all the same through the 2000's. The new Yzx is the enduro version.
