track-days and racing (tarmac) in the summer months.

bowhunter007 01-18-2014 01:36 PM

My username should be pretty clear;) Beyond that, there's mountain bike(s), the horse(bucked off yesterday), and pretty much being outdoors.

Play a lot of golf when the weather permits and living in AL, we get quite a bit of good weather. Play guitar in the praise and worship band at church. I've got a Kawasaki klr650 to dual sport on and a Kawasaki Concours 1400 to do some road riding on. During the summer, we like to load up the toyhauler with the KLR and go camping somewhere and do some exploring on the bike.

Dogs and a large caliber weapon, I hope!

Surfing is my next biggest hobby followed by my winter sports which can be paintball or snowboarding. But usually I'll man up in the winter and take a motorcycle out. I do go street riding a lot too on my Ducati 1098. It also doubles as a track bike when I can tear myself away from the dirt.

Besides my life long obsession with motorcycles I am an archery hunter and enjoy riding my BMW dual sport to trout streams to fly fish. I also occasionally hit the rails to trails on my old specialized mountain bike I have set up more for touring.

Awesome thread idea.

I usually bounce back and forth b/t riding/racing and Amateur Tour golf (was 7 hdcp). Although since my crash where I broke my tail bone riding a few years ago, the golf hasn't been enjoyable. The upper body turning against the lower body is not good for me anymore. Lots of nerve damage that can't be repaired. Haven't played since July and I don't have any plans to. I'm pretty bummed about it bc I miss my golf buddies. Luckily, riding the bike doesn't hurt as much.

Recently, coming up with a new business idea has been my main hobby. That and hanging out my 6 yr old son. He has been riding a lot on his 50. I have a decent track I laid out in our yard. Made a little small table top jump and mini whoop section. Ha.

Also, I had a some serious health issues (big time cancer scare and pre diabetic) last year that has me spending time working out. It is a hobby just trying to eat right and excercise.

That's awesome! I owned 2 65s(1 2Dr hardtop & 2Dr pillar coupe). My dad had a 66 GS. Both 65s had alum 300ci v8s, while my dad's 66 had a stock 401.
**note** it took me 10 years to acquire everything needed to build 2 complete alloy v8s.

Glad you liked the thread idea :) I hoped it might spark some interest.

A real Golfer amongst us Bandit - nice :D I played Professionally for 15+ years up until 2008, and then as an Amateur afterwards in some big events, playing off a UK handicap of +2 for 3 years or so. Then i kinda got out of the groove / habit of playing for a while and havn't touched a club for nearly 3 years. Havn't got the itch either as yet.

Back problems of any sort and golf dont mix im afraid as you well know. If your really enjoying them.....stick to the bikes. And the kids of course !

Amongst other things i also collect one type of golf 'memorabilia' in a pretty big way, but im not sure anyone on this type of forum would be that interested in pics of that.

I wish I enjoyed my work. But it pays well, so I can afford motorcycles.

My hobby is trying to make time for hobbies at all. Wait, aren't hobbies supposed to be fun?

Bandit; I'm a Chiropractor. Business idea #1; you drive me around the country and we ride and fix these old broken GasGas riders!!

Boom Boom 01-30-2014 03:12 PM

I get paid to use explosives.:D
It is work but on a good day it doesn't feel like work.
Have played with trials bikes for the past 35 years...that is my favorite form of 2 wheel travel.
From my work trade you don't need to guess very long where my user name came from.
Was doing a job at a local college and the day care center was beside where we were working, had a bunch of the kids come out and sing a song for me...it was "Boom Boom the blaster man"....that stuck with me so I used it.

My Chiro is the only person that can give me relief when it starts acting up.

Awesome. You ever play in The Open? Where at? There was a time that I would have sacrificed body parts to be a pro golfer. I tried like hell, but it wasn't to be. Am Tour has been really fun. I don't miss the agony of playing the game at all, but I miss my friends. I miss hitting my Mizuno MP67's.

What sucks is that I could be playing everyday right now, but I can't bc of my lower back issues.

It is amazing how many offers I get from potential fly rod testers:)

I do have a prototype around from time-to-time that I need feedback on.

Ski-Dooing

Here's my favorite winter time past time. Riding my Ski-Doo Renegade MXZX 600 SDI. I've been snowmobiling for over 30 yrs and it all started with needing an easier way to do my rural paper route in the winter. ($50 1970 Ski-Doo Oly at age 8) We have awesome riding here with the trails that traverse the bluff country. This year has been one of the best snowmobiling years that I can remember but it's now coming to an end.:( But I'll be on the ole GG soon!:D

Buysomerice 03-14-2014 03:23 PM

When not on the bike we are probably goin mountain biking. Other than that my group also plays pump/stock class paintball, it's a awesome feeling keepin up with people shooting 10-20 shots a second with my one shot. Lastly if I'm solo i'll target shoot my recurve bow or guns.

Another fly fisherman here. I live 5mi from the Shenandoah. When not fishing or riding I'm recovering or drinking and posting on the interweb.

So far so good. It sounds good thru the Marshall 4x12 cabinet. A bit over kill?

I have a little 35 watt solid state Orange crush combo amp. It is a really cool amp with a lot of punch and a grip load of effects built in to it.

What are you playing on?
