Vent hoses

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone with a 2018 can inform me where the 3 way tube that connects to the air boot on these bikes should connect. 1 goes into the air boot /box n I think another goes to some sort of vent on the cylinder. It's the 3rd in not sure of. Does it connect to the power valve drain?
Thanks
Josh

One certainly does connect to the powervalve vent.

I'm going to remove all mine and blank the carb boot off, as they are with the XC models.

I might do the same Jake. Doesn't seem logical to run all that gunk back up into the vicinity of the carb..

From an emissions point of view it does, but mechanically no thanks. I could show you a picture of the bash plate where my vent drains too. No way would I want that goop in my air intake.

I just ran the gearbox breather into it. No appreciable amount of dribble comes out of that hose and it negates the need for blocking it off. Power valve drain open to the atmosphere.

Whats the chance of this contributing to the amount of spooge coming out of my exhaust. I cant imagine it being burnt as it enters the carby. My plug is good, not perfect but the amount of dribble coming out my exhaust is massive.

Nill chance impacting spooge out of the engine from what I can tell.

These FMF cans are bloody huge mate, and coupled with the spark arrestor design never really get hot enough to do anything with the spooge. IE every bit of oil that passes through the engine (and ideally you do want some to do so) ends up being caught and stays wet and spoogily.

My 2013 didn't stop spooging until I cut a couple inches off the back and took the arrestor out of it.

I had a look at the 18, and it looks even bigger with an even smaller exit. I'm not surprised they spoogey.

Yeah there always has been, the right hand side power valve actuator one. Goes all the way through to the box.

Well bugger me silly. Used to old breather on top of cases type engines.
